Germany

Banana production in Germany is relatively inconsequential but in 2018 Germany consumed 11.6 kilograms of bananas per capita. Bananas appear on German stamps in a design featuring a cartoon character: The Little Polar Bear was a series of books by Dutch author, Hans de Beer about a polar bear cub named Lars. Subsequently, it became an animated TV series for BBC TV, and translated as Lars, der kleine Eisbar, the show became popular in Germany in the 1990s.
