Palestinian Authority


Banana production has declined sharply on the West Bank because it makes heavy demands on scarce water resources and because date palms are ten time more profitable. The area was once famous for the production of the "Jericho Banana" but by 2017 there was only enough production to satisfy 6% of the local market.
