Timor

The most remote of British Overseas Territories and the only one in the Pacific, Pitcairn Islands does not have any commercial banana production but Country Reports notes, "The fertile soil of the valleys produces a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, including citrus, sugarcane, watermelons, bananas, yams, and beans." In the Pitkern language (a mixture of English dialects and Tahitian), green bananas are known as plun, believed to be a corruption of "plantain."
