Dupuis House

The Dupuis family built this storey and a half family residence about 1820. The oldest structure at the museum, it was occupied as recently as 1970s despite the lack of running water and electricity. The log frame was constructed using half logs, meaning they were squared and white-washed on the outside. Inside the logs were left rounded intact with bark. The original gable roof was replaced with a mansard roof in order to provide more space on the second floor. The mansard roof is characteristic of the Canadien style.
