Wash Tub, Wash Board and Wringer

For those who could not afford the gas powered or electric washing machines offered in the Eaton's Fall and Winter 1934-35 catalogue, the traditional economical alternative was the wash board and wash tub. The wringer was a relatively expensive accessory to speed up the drying process. Note the similarities between the "Eatonia" model depicted in the catalogue and the one on display in the museum's A.E. McKeen General Store.
