1929 Durant

Having been dismissed as the president of General Motors, William Durant founded Durant Motors in 1921 and the company produced a variety of cars and trucks, including popular Durant and Star lines and over the next decade. For Canadian production, the company took over the buildings abandoned after the end of the first World War by the Leaside (Toronto) Munitions Company. Models destined for Imperial markets were sold under the "Rugby" brand because the Star trademark was already owned in those markets by an English company. Dominion Motors built the Durant line in Canada until 1932.
