Ang'ata Tented Camp to Myumbani Collection Tented Camp

Dawn beside Lake Ndutu

We begin our morning game drive by watching a pride of lions begins its day beside flamingos on Lake Ndutu.

Lioness beside Lake Ndutu

A lioness shifts her attention from the flamingos to the gathering safari vehicles.

As we move out onto the savanna, we encounter more lions.

young lion

The young male (note the remaining pink on his nose) appears to be more disturbed by our presence than the lionesses had been earlier.

hunting dog

Unlike other canines that hunt in packs, black-backed jackals are usually found alone or in pairs. They hunt small mammals and scavange the kills of other predators.
