Dalat
Evergreens decorate the hillsides around
Dalat, the honeymoon capital
of Vietnam,
resort and refuge from the heat of the coastal plains.
A modern sculpture decorates the square
in front of the modern, multi-storied market building. The surrounding
hillsides produce coffee, tea, mulberrry
leaves (for silkworms) and a variety of other agricultural products.
The natural beauty of the countryside
contrasts with bustling life of the resort and market town.
Pongour - the park near these thirty
metre falls features a variety of wildlife
and examples of the houses traditionally
inhabited by the local hill tribes.
