Then I continued east through Saskatoon to a campsite in Lanigan, Saskatchewan where the mosquitoes (that had been surprising scarce through most of my journey) feasted on me.

I got into Winnipeg the following day and revelled in the tranquil beauty of the Leo Moll sculpture garden in Assiniboine Park. Moll's sculpture of Tom Lamb, the northern bush pilot and entrepreneur was a fitting reminder of the vast country through which I had travelled.

The next night I camped at Macleod Lake near Geraldton, Ontario and by midnight of the next day I was at home in Orléans, Ontario.
