Mail Early Be Sure Your Gifts Arrive in Time Slogan Cancellation

The "Mail Early Be Sure Your Gifts Arrive in Time" slogan cancellation was used in 27 Canadian post offices between 1925 and 1956. The image of Santa Claus on the cancellation is a particularly interesting feature. Three northern postmarks, Pangnirtung (1927), Arctic Red River (1930) and Aklavik (1931) were probably applied in Ottawa or Toronto as part of a promotion run by an American newspaper taking advantage of the image of Santa Claus.
