Refugee Relief Semi-Postal Issue of 1926
In 1926 Syria issued a set of definitives overprinted with the image of an airplane. The did not see airmail use until 1929 when a service between Beirut and Marseille was introduced. On April 1, 1926 this airmail issue was surcharged as a semi-postal issue for refugee relief.
