Since the 1980's, the proprietors of Papanack Zoo have been involved with breeding exotic birds and animals. In 1994 they opened their collection to the general public. The Papanack Park Zoo has been expanding since then and now covers 30 acres with over 300 birds and animals under the care of more than 30 employees.
